About

Ceri Rowland is a fantasy author based in Edinburgh, Scotland. His passions include tabletop roleplaying games, cookery and petting other people’s dogs. He has been writing in one form or another for most of his life, progressing from fan-fiction to original works and refining his craft at every step of the way.

The defining characteristic of his writing is the strength of his characters. Witty and lively dialogue brings his characters to life as they tackle conflicts and struggles that will feel familiar to almost any reader, and each speaks in a distinctive and recognisable voice that will ring in the reader’s ears as surely as if they were in the room with them.

Why writing? And why now? The COVID-19 pandemic changed the world in many ways, not all of them for the better, but perhaps one of the most prominent effects was that it highlighted the power of narrative. A strong narrative can inspire people and drive them to do things they might never have thought possible. The right words at the right time can literally change the world.

And perhaps most importantly of all, we live in a golden age of creativity and connectivity, and there has never been a better time to put yourself out there. This is the reasoning that led Ceri to abandon a stillborn career in data analytics and reporting to pursue his true passion: the written word.
